Sucker Punch

The quaint old activity of visiting the 'Picture-House'

So, been to see ‘Sucker Punch’ this morning.  It was quite telling of the current state of Cinema/Movie go-ers, that there was a sum total of 6 people present for the showing (and the one behind me, may have been a theatre usher…).

Right from the off, this is a very visual/musical movie, a full length video/movie mash-up if you will.  Now, I went into this knowing it wouldn’t be strong on story-line, but even as just a bit of glorious ‘pop-corn no-brainer’, it still lacks A LOT.

At times you literally feel like you’re just being dazzled by video game cut scenes, with your ears being bombarded by rock cover-version bluster. With hindsight I feel this movie as a whole clearly  lacks the imagination it purports to have,  joining it’s apparent lack of characterization, depth, back-story or “heart”.

Cute girls + knee socks + pig-tails + video gaming + shakey cam + rubbish cover version of Stooges  ‘Search & Destroy’ = Sucker Punch.

Rating:  Meh/10

Paignton Library

Havent been into a Library for ‘literally’ YEARS!!!

Such a pleasant surprise awaited me. Very modern, open plan, mix of all the classic elements, books (erm obviously), music and computers.

But also, conference rooms and even a coffee shop!

Politics… Any & Every chance to stick it to the good old ‘currant bun’… a rag more akin to something like the Beano, although i understand it has  great ‘sports’ coverage… oh, and boobies on page 3. Go away. Now.
